WRITTEN
BY Laeta Kalogridis
DIRECTED BY Brian Robbins

as Dr. Quinzel, Chris Ellis as Ketterly, Mark Hamill as
the Voice of the Joker
The
Oracle and the Huntress have to deal with suicides of businessmen
and meet a young runaway named Dinah. First episode of the
series.
*
The original version of the Birds of Prey pilot
episode featured Sherilyn Fenn as Dr. Harleen Quinzel.
She was replaced by Mia Sara before the episode actually
aired.
*
Some scenes featuring Dina Meyer and Shawn Christian from
the pilot's original cut were later used in the episode
"Reunion" instead. Replacing that scene in the
aired pilot was a scene with Barbara and Wade that started
things on a happier note.
*
This version of the pilot featured flashback scenes narrated
by a newscaster. The final cut featured an Alfred voiceover.
*
DELETED SCENE: The Barbara/Wade scene was originally
supposed to play out differently from even what aired
in this version.
*
Mark Hamill, who played the Joker in Batman: The Animated
Series, provided the character's voice in this show's
premiere.
